GENERAL INFORMATION

There’s no reason your desire for a disc brake road bike should be limited only to bikes designed for comfort first. The Cipollini NK1K Disc is a full-on aero road bike and also sports flat mounts and thru-axles so you can take advantage of the latest disc brake technology.

Cipollini loves the RB1K. However, when they saw a way to go the next step, they did. And then some. The NK1K takes the same carbon plies, T1000, the same 1 ¼” to 1 1/8” tapered steerer, the same BB386EVO bottom bracket, and many of the shapes of the RB1K, and takes them further. They found with the right tugging and nipping, they could build a more aero bike that is also more comfortable. Check out the way the fork crown fits perfectly in the downtube notch. Look at how the down tube drops close to the front wheel, how the seat tube more closely covers the rear wheel. All this makes the bike faster. The taller head tube, the flatter, more tapered top tube, the skinnier seat stays, and the smaller, adjustable seatpost all aid in adding comfort. The post, btw, has an 18mm offset clamp and can fit all seat rails.

The NK1K possesses more of a stage race geometry, with slightly more relaxed angles. It also comes with a unique front end riser. While the frame comes with a head tube that allows you to slam a stem, there’s also a 16mm stack spacer you can fix to the frame that effectively raises the head tube and puts both the bearings and the stem in a place where they’re better supported. Micro-spacers can go on top still.

As mentioned earlier, the bottom bracket standard is the BB386 EVO. Wide, at 86mm, allowing for 30mm diameter thru-axles, it is a great way for both the frame to get stiffer and lighter, and for you to use stiffer, lighter crankarms. Pretty much everything, save BB30 cranks should fit.

The bike is designed for internal cable routing, be they mechanical, electronic, or hydraulic. If you go electronic, the battery hides in the seatpost. Stops and plugs are included. Also included is the headset.

Brakes are flat-mounted to the frame. This mount currently only works with Shimano calipers and 140mm rotors.

The Cipollini NK1K Disc is the rare aero road frame that gives you the benefits of disc braking.
