Product Description

Much of what makes a good aero road bike also makes for a good pursuit bike. The Cipollini NKTR is an aero track bike focused on timed events. Its style is only matched by the speed you gain.

Bikes for timed events have to be stiff for the starts and for being able to effortlessly transition from the banks to the straights and vice versa. They need to be stable because you’ll be going so hard your vision is hazy. And they need to be aero because hundredths of a second matter. The NKTR has you covered on all fronts.

The shapes of the frame are based on the work Cipollini did to create the NK1K. The fork integrating with the downtube wrapping the front wheel came from there. So, too, did the stays joining low on the seat tube and the seat tube shrouding the rear wheel. But because it is the track, where there are neither rough roads nor mountains, Cipollini continued shaping, with a head tube that extends back to smooth the airflow going around the fork’s bayonet. The top tube is also bulked up, which adds stiffness for the starts. The chainstays extend straight back from the Atomlink bottom bracket to better hide from the wind as well. And the adjustable seat post is topped with a rail system so you can set the clamp back as far as a virtual 73-degrees and as far forward as a virtual 78-dgrees.

The rear wheel clamps into replaceable steel fork tips that also have micro-adjusters so you can’t accidentally move the wheel with a violent start.

The bottom bracket drop is 68mm, which is closer to a road bike than a mass-start track bike. This contributes to stability as well as being as low as possible. The bottom bracket itself is English-threaded, for ease of finding components.

Weight for the frame, size Medium, unpainted is 1430g. This is light by track standards. As on the road, the less mass there is to accelerate, the faster acceleration can occur.

The frame comes with a Vision Trimax Carbon integrated bar combo. The width is 40cm, measured inside to inside. The stem itself can be raised up from flush with the top tube by up to 12mm.

The Cipollini NKTR is a stable blur on the boards.
