Product Description

When making a bike fast, engineers try to reduce the drag coefficient, the CD, as much as possible. Getting it to zero would be perfection, but impossible. Quintana Roo believes their CD0.1, slices through the wind with almost no drag, hence the name.

The standout feature on the CD0.1 is the SHIFT downtube. The downtube is not just aerodynamically-shaped, but offset by 18mm to divert air away from the drivetrain. The drivetrain, with all the moving pieces creates “dirty” (aka turbulent) air. By diverting air to the left side of the bike, the wind can move more cleanly over the bike, which nets you speed.

Likewise, they designed in some vibration damping into the frame. Tri’ bikes, with their oversized downtube and thick seatpost, can be pretty rough on your back. That’s why QR flattened the top tube, and reduced the size of the seat stays to a minimum.

QR designs for practical, real-world applications. They want the frame easy to fit, easy to adjust, easy to service. They want the frame light, because lighter is not only easier to accelerate, but easier to hold at speed. Simple is better whenever possible.

That's why they have a conventional 1 1/8" steerer. It can take a standard stem: easy to adjust, easy to take apart for travel. The same goes for the aero seat post. The clamp can be set so that the seat tube is effectively anywhere from a 77- to 81-degree angle. The clamp slot is designed so that you can move the clamp anywhere on its travel and it will remain the same distance from the bottom bracket; this makes it easy for fitters to dial in a position. It takes round rails, oversized clamps can be had as an accessory.

The integrated brakes, made by TRP, are hidden from the wind, but not from your eyesight, here, again, easy to work on and travel with.

With a BB30 bottom bracket, and internal cable runs that can accept electronic or mechanical shifting, you don't have to worry about what you'll upgrade to as the bike can take it. There are mounts under the downtube for a battery, but you can also stow it internally.

The frame and fork should fit most 25mm tires. Some 28’s might fit, but as there are no tire-size standards, it’s only a risk worth undertaking if you have a big need. Likewise, the fork and stays should fit all wheels regardless of width.

The Quintana Roo CD0.1 is creating a new air movement, one that increases your speed.
